The DC League of Super-Pets movie reveals a slew of animal powers and a Justice League cameo in a brand new trailer. DC League of Super-Pets follows Krypto the Superdog, the loyal companion to Superman, on a journey to save the Justice League from the clutches of the sinister supervillain, Lex Luthor. Along the way, Krypto picks up a team of unlikely heroes that may be the key to saving the world.
After the Justice League is kidnapped, Krypto alone is unable to save Superman. Upon discovering a ragtag group of animals in a local shelter, these unlikely heroes are imbued with superpowers that transform them into the League of Super-Pets—giving Krypto the chance to lead his very own team to rescue the Justice League. Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the voice of Krypto, Kevin Hart as Ace the Bat-Hound, and John Krasinski as Clark Kent/Superman, DC League of Super-Pets takes fans into the animated world of DC's greatest heroes and their beloved pets. At DC's FanDome event in October, fans were given a tease of the upcoming animated film from Warner Bros.
With the release of the brand new trailer from Warner Bros., the DC League of Super-Pets offers a first look at Krypto's animal companions, complete with powers like a dog's super strength, a turtle's super speed, a squirrel shooting electricity, and a pig that grows very large. Plus, the trailer gives a quick cameo of classic Justice League characters such as Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Batman. Check out the trailer below:
After Dwayne "The Rock," Johnson and Kevin Hart were announced to play the roles of Krypto and Ace, respectively, little had been known about the rest of the voice cast. But the new trailer offers fans some details on what other actors have joined the cast. DC League of Super-Pets features the voice talents of Natasha Lyonne as Merton, the Flash's turtle, Diego Luna as Chip, Green Lantern's squirrel, and Vanessa Bayer as PB, Wonder Woman's pig who join Krypto and Ace in their quest to save the Justice League. Comedian Marc Maron stars as Lex Luthor, while Ben Schwartz, Kate McKinnon, Thomas Middleditch, Jameela Jamil, and Keanu Reeves have also been cast in undisclosed roles in the animated feature.
While a majority of DC's animated projects are geared toward adapting comic book storylines, the success of such animated films as The LEGO Batman Movie and Teen Titans GO! To The Movies proves Warner Bros. and DC can bring their cast of iconic characters to a young audience. With the promise of plenty of laughs and sporting a talented voice cast, DC League of Super-Pets is sure to be a family-friendly adventure in the world of DC's beloved characters. And if successful, DC League of Super-Pets may very well be the introduction to a brand new animated franchise.
